Overview
The Lane ESD School Safety and Prevention System (SSPS) is designed to provide component school districts with a multi-tiered system of supports ranging from curriculum-based universal prevention programs to safety-based crisis interventions.
These offerings include suicide prevention intervention and postvention supportive services, behavioral safety assessment technical assistance, support promoting the SafeOregon Tip Line, and positive school culture and climate support that includes programs to prevent bullying, cyberbullying, harassment, and intimidation, and to promote mental health and well-being in Lane County schools and districts.
The Lane ESD SSPS also coordinates the countywide Tragedy Response Network (a crisis response/flight team model for schools and districts) and supports the implementation and development of Student Care Teams across the county in collaboration with community partners. This work is coordinated by an ESD based School Safety and Prevention Specialist in collaboration with other ESD, district, community and statewide partners.
