The Lane Education Service District (Lane ESD) Board of Directors is accepting applications to fill two vacancies on the Board of Directors.
Available Positions
Position 3
- Represents the Springfield School District 19 area.
Position 6 (At-Large)
- Represents the entire Lane Education Service District.
Each vacancy has specific eligibility requirements. Interested individuals should review the information for each position and submit an application for the position for which they are eligible.
Priority consideration will be given to applications received by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026. The position will remain open until filled.
Position 3 Vacancy | Appointment Process
The Lane Education Service District (Lane ESD) Board of Directors will appoint a qualified individual to fill the vacancy in Board Position 3.
The position is a vacancy occurring during the current term of office. The appointed Board Director will serve for the remainder of the current term, in accordance with applicable Oregon law and Lane ESD Board policy.
Eligibility
To be eligible for appointment to Position 3, an applicant must:
- Be a registered voter.
- Reside within the geographic boundaries of Board Position 3 (Springfield School District 19), consistent with Lane ESD Board Policy BBE-AR: Procedures for Vacancies on the Board.
- Meet all other eligibility requirements established by Oregon law.
Lane ESD employees are not eligible to serve as members of the Lane ESD Board of Directors.
Application and Selection Process
Interested individuals are invited to submit a Board Director application and letter of interest. Priority consideration will be given to applications received by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026. The Board expects to begin reviewing applications following that date; however, the position will remain open until filled.
Following the application deadline, the Board will review submitted applications and determine which eligible applicants will be invited to participate in an interview.
Interviews will be conducted during a public meeting of the Lane ESD Board of Directors. Applicants selected for an interview will receive the interview questions in advance of the meeting.
The Board will ask each candidate the same questions and will have an opportunity to learn more about each candidate’s interest in serving on the Board, understanding of the role of an Education Service District Board Director, experience working collaboratively with others, and approach to representing the educational interests of Lane County.
Following the interviews, the Board will consider the candidates and appoint an individual to fill the Position 3 vacancy in accordance with applicable Oregon law and Lane ESD Board policy.
Position 6 (At-Large) Vacancy | Appointment Process
