Goals:
  • Design project-based lessons modeled after PeaceJam international curriculum that will be provided by the presenters
  • Explore techniques for integrating equity-based practices, social-emotional approaches, and project-based learning to foster student leadership and elevate youth voice
  • Examine materials that connect new Social Science Standards (particularly the multicultural strand) with the case studies of Nobel Laureates and the global issues that inspired their work
Description: PeaceJam is an international organization led by 14 Nobel Peace Prize winners, including the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu, with programs in 40 countries around the world. Its mission is to create young leaders committed to positive change in themselves, their communities. PeaceJam uses a combination of social-emotional skill-building, the case studies of Nobel Laureates and Project Based Learning to encourage students to address the most challenging issues of our time. PeaceJam's curricula have been aligned with IB, UK, and US content standards in multiple subject areas.

Notes: All participants will be provided a certificate for PDUs based on the training hours.
