Goals:
  • Increase teachers' proficiency with SB 13 and its supporting ODE Humanities lesson plans.
  • Increase teachers' proficiency with SB 664, HB 2845, and the 2018 Oregon Social Studies Academic Content Standards.
  • Create and evaluate models for incorporating the aforementioned legislation and state standards in new or existing scopes and sequences.
Description: Teachers and other education leaders from across Lane County are invited to take a 'deep dive' into ODE's SB 13 lesson plans for implementing Tribal History/Shared History curriculum in grades 4, 8, and 10 with a focus on social studies and the humanities. Participants will apply the pedagogical orientation of the SB 13 lessons to other aspects of their work and review additional lessons developed by tribes with current or historic presence in Lane County. Furthermore, other shifts in content and instruction being promoted by the 2018 Oregon Social Studies Academic Content Standards and recent legislation will be evaluated as well.
Lunch: No lunch will be provided.
Prerequisites: None
Notes: 2/25, 2/26, and 2/27 workshops are identical. Please register for one workshop only.

All participants will be provided a certificate for PDUs based on the training hours.
